Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations


Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations (RII40120) provides training involving a broad range of varied activities. Supervisors are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply safety management plans to the workplace.

Our course has been designed for Quarry Managers and supervisors who are required to undertake recommended competencies. This course includes:

S123 Supervisors Course

QM1 Units of Competency (Mandatory units for SSE Notice)

Emergency Management Module (NSW-Advanced Diploma)

Other Industry Units of Competency

Target Audience

This course specifically targets Supervisors or Quarry Managers who are required to make an application for their SSE Notice (QLD) or Practising Certificate (NSW) and all other Australian states.


6-24 months.

If currently employed within the industry, training can be conducted on your site.

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 13

4 core units, plus

9 elective units, of which:

  • one (1) must be from Group A
  • at least two (2) must be from Group B
  • no more than four (4) may be from Group C
  • no more than one (1) may be from Group D
  • no more than two (2) may be from elsewhere in this or any other currently endorsed training package, or from an accredited course.
